Chua Thian Poh Community Leadership Programme

About CTPCLP

Inaugurated in 2011 and made possible by a generous pledged gift of S$5 million from Mr Chua Thian Poh (Chairman & Chief Executive Officer of Ho Bee Land Limited) to National University of Singapore (NUS), the Chua Thian Poh Community Leadership Programme (CTPCLP) aims to develop Singapore’s next generation of community leaders.

Each year, a small number of NUS undergraduates, majoring in various disciplines, will be admitted into the CTPCLP as fellows.

Each fellow engages in the following activities: two credited modules related to the topic of Community Leadership, a research project on a topical social issue, an attachment with a social service organization where the fellow works on an assigned project with the goal of adding value to the organization, and participation in an interest hub where a group of fellows initiate and execute awareness and advocacy projects focusing on a particular social issue.

The future community leaders nurtured by the CTPCLP will not only be intellectually engaged in social and community issues, they will also have the opportunity to work hand in hand with our partnering social service organizations to address social and community challenges in Singapore. They will be tomorrow’s change makers, driven by a sense of true calling to mobilize the community to collectively solve social problems.
